The Council on Vertical Urbanism's (CVU) 2026 Trends and Forecasts Report revealed that 47% of the world's tallest buildings have a mixed-use function.

 
The percentage of mixed-use, supertall developments in this category has doubled every decade since 2000, starting at only 12% and aggressively eroding a monopoly of office towers.
There has also been a slow-but-steady increase in residential function, currently at 9%. A growing focus on living spaces in this niche construction realm creates opportunities for Landscape Architects in outdoor living design.
