The minimum award sizes range from $5-25 million, depending upon project size. Eligible project types include standard highway or bridge projects as well as wildlife crossings and marine highway corridors.

Hosted under the Nationally Significant Multimodal Freight and Highways Projects (INFRA) program, the awards will be given to projects that modernize or expand existing infrastructure along freight corridors and increase commercial motor vehicle parking, all with the aim of supporting American commercial enterprise. Notably, the notice explicitly mentions the intention to "[ensure] our transportation network supports the future of American aerospace and continued global leadership."

There are two categories of funding groups, with Track 1 projects focusing on surface transportation projects and Track 2 projects focusing on commercial motor vehicle parking projects. Track 1 applications were due July 1, 2026, and Track 2 applications are due July 15, 2026.
