The Professional Grounds Management Society announced it has awarded Texas A&M University with a 2-star Landscape Management and Operations Accreditation. The school is managed by SSC-Services for Education. Don Crawford, SSC Resident Regional Manager, accepted the honor on behalf of the school. "From the meeting with the Grounds Management Leadership Team, it was clear that they possess many of the right skill sets needed for a good and productive grounds organization. The knowledge of the Grounds Management Leadership Team and their effective use of sound grounds management strategies are evident from observing the results of site appropriate work processes and procedures and the delivery of an appreciable grounds product," said Accreditation Facilitator Joe Jackson, CGM. The PGMS Landscape Management and Operations Accreditation program is an evaluation tool for facilities and organizations with a focus on environmental stewardship, economic performance, and social responsibilities. The program both recognizes excellence and provides a means by which facilities can measure growth and improvements in best practices. For more information, visit pgms.org.
