The Transportation Research Board (TRB) held their Automated Road Transportation Symposium that brings researchers, politicians, and journalists alike together annually every July to discuss issues in automated transportation. Meanwhile, in March, TRB hosted the 6th Marine Transportation System Research and Development Conference that encompasses tech in the transportation industry.

 
The conference focused on the tech that surrounds automation while presenters covered a wide berth of automation ranging from ship building to interoperable automation.

A large part of the transportation industry as of late is how to lower emissions and have a positive impact on the environment. With that in mind, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicines Assessment of Technologies for Improving Light-Duty Vehicle Fuel Economy- 2025-2035 that explains fuel-efficiency technology and how to implement it.

In 2022, TRB is hosting the Conference on Sustainability and Emerging Transportation Technology.
