Inspired in part by the experiential qualities of Alhambra-inspired water sequences, Wilderness Gate layers intimate sensory moments against expansive Southwestern viewsheds. The design carefully integrates rills, stonework, native vegetation, and sculptural outdoor spaces that connect the residence and studio to the larger landscape. Working collaboratively with architects, builders, owners, and craftspeople, the team preserved significant existing site conditions while simultaneously constructing new interventions within a sensitive natural environment. Material palettes, metalwork, and stone detailing reinforce the tactile quality of the landscape, allowing architecture and landform to dissolve into one another through sequence, texture, and scale.

Reflections at The Club at Las Campanas reimagines a residential landscape through water, serenity, and sculptural outdoor living. Recognized with the Haciendas Remodeling Showcase 2024 Award, the project transformed an existing property into a refined outdoor environment that balances contemporary living with the character of Northern New Mexico's landscape. The design creates a sequence of intimate outdoor spaces connected to expansive desert views and nearby club amenities. A central reflecting water feature serves as the emotional anchor of the landscape, introducing cooling effects, visual stillness, and sensory contrast within the semi-arid environment.

Located at the edge of downtown Santa Fe, the project transforms a formerly underutilized property into a layered environment where lodging, gathering, work, and landscape intersect naturally. The design prioritizes walkability, native planting, outdoor rooms, shaded gathering spaces, and a gradual transition between public and private experience. Rather than functioning solely as hospitality. The Trailhead operates as a social and cultural hub connected to the evolving urban fabric of Santa Fe's Railyard District. The project reflects the studio's broader philosophy that landscapes can foster slower living, human connection, and emotional grounding while supporting density, adaptive reuse, and contemporary Southwestern urbanism.

Located within the unique ecotone of Tesuque Creek, Creek House explores coexistence between architecture, water, and the surrounding riparian environment. Rather than competing with the existing creek system, the landscape design creates parallel experiences of water movement through a series of subtle channels, sound sequences, and gathering spaces. The project focused on preserving the sensory character of the land while guiding movement through layered outdoor destinations. Native planting, shaded transitions, and carefully framed views strengthen the relationship between built and natural systems. The result is a landscape that feels immersed in the rhythms of water and place without overpowering the existing ecology.

This LEED-certified residential project integrates sustainable landscape systems with sculptural outdoor living environments designed to strengthen the relationship between architecture, climate, and long-range views. The landscape unfolds through a sequence of arrival experiences, framed vistas, courtyards, and layered outdoor spaces visible from nearly every interior room. Water-conscious planting, passive environmental strategies, and carefully calibrated hardscape systems supported the project's LEED performance goals while maintaining warmth and livability. The design sought to dissolve boundaries between indoor and outdoor experience through texture, material continuity, and spatial rhythm. The result is a contemporary Southwestern landscape that balances environmental performance with emotional comfort, visual clarity, and strong architectural integration.

Located within the agricultural landscape of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, The Vineyard emerged through a long-term master planning process focused on the relationship between residential living, productive land, and regional identity. Working closely with the owners, architects, and winery collaborators, Serquis + Associates helped establish the vineyard as a central organizing element for the property. The landscape strategy studied the morphology of agricultural systems, circulation, viewsheds, and seasonal rhythms while integrating the future winery vision into the larger residential environment. The project balances cultivated order with the openness of the surrounding land, reinforcing the historic agricultural character of Los Ranchos while supporting a contemporary architectural expression rooted in place.

Recognized with the Visionary Award from the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association, Shoofly Park reflects a collaborative, village-like process to explore how density, landscape, and community can coexist within a compact urban footprint. Developed as part of an infill housing vision, the project transformed a vacant lot into a walkable micro-community centered around outdoor living, native planting, and shared green space. The project introduced more than twenty new trees and layered planting areas designed to contribute to Santa Fe's long-term urban canopy while softening the density of the site. Compact loft living is balanced through carefully designed outdoor spaces that encourage pause, interaction, and connection to nature.Photo Credit: Mike Flores

The Acequia Trail Underpass transformed one of Santa Fe's most challenging intersections into a connective civic landscape linking trails, neighborhoods, and public space. Recognized with the Excellence in Concrete Award from the American Concrete Institute New Mexico Chapter, the project demonstrates how infrastructure can serve both functional and civic purposes while enhancing the public realm. In collaboration with the City of Santa Fe, NMDOT, the New Mexico School for the Deaf, environmental agencies, engineers, and community stakeholders, the project integrates multimodal circulation with green infrastructure and water harvesting strategies. Bioswales and rain gardens now manage approximately 437,000 gallons of stormwater annually while preserving critical sightlines, accessibility, and historic acequia relationships. Serquis + Associates Landscape Architecture is a highly collaborative boutique firm based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
