The Irrigation Association has unveiled its annual initiative, Smart Irrigation Month, which celebrates efficient irrigation and the advancements that promote wise water use. This month-long campaign, observed throughout July, emphasizes the significance of employing smart irrigation practices and technologies to ensure sustainable water management.

 
Under the theme "What's the value of smart irrigation?", this year's Smart Irrigation Month aims to highlight the irrigation industry's role in enhancing global food production and preserving water resources essential for thriving and healthy communities. By promoting the efficient use of water, the industry contributes to a sustainable world while addressing critical challenges facing society.

Natasha Rankin, MBA, CAE, Chief Executive Officer of the Irrigation Association, expressed enthusiasm about the campaign, stating, "July is our industry's opportunity to share its amazing stories about contributing to a sustainable world and raising awareness about how innovative and smart irrigation technologies, practices, and products provide solutions to some of the most critical challenges facing society."

Smart Irrigation Month features Technology Tuesday, designated for July 11, during which irrigation professionals are encouraged to wear blue to raise awareness of the value of smart irrigation. The initiative seeks to highlight the people, practices, and technologies that efficiently apply water to agricultural fields, landscapes, and turfgrass.
