$160 Million of Funding for Smart Transport Tech

The Biden-Harris Administration has Revealed Two Programs that will Fund $160 Million for Smart Transportation

The two programs are called SMART and ATTAIN and will promote innovative transportation technology and infrastructure.

The U.S. Department of Transportation announced that it is that it is accepting submissions for $160 million in transportation infrastructure funding. This funding will be granted under two separate projects that focus on different ways to improve our transportation infrastructure. The first is called the Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) program and offers $100 million and the second is called the Advanced Transportation Technology and Innovation (ATTAIN) program that has $60 million available.

The SMART program is focused on vehicle technology like automatous cars, system innovation like adding smart technology to the traffic grid, and new ways to manage all of that infrastructure like new types of sensors. The ATTAIN program will devote funding to projects that improve safety and reduce the travel time while also including how they affect the environment and how effective they will be at creating jobs.
