ASLA Initiative by Staff
April is World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM), the ASLA's initiative to bring awareness to the world of landscape architects and inspire the next generation. The ASLA WLAM website lists many ways to participate, including organizing a site tour for elected officials, reaching out to local legislators, or sharing projects with and facilitating design activities for K-12 or university students. Landscape Architects can also join one of the ASLA's iAdvocate initiatives that track legislation and campaigns, feature current and upcoming funding opportunities, and list local legislators. On the more social side, the ASLA has provided a list of daily social media prompts (shown above) with the hashtag #WLAM2024 to increase awareness and appreciation for all aspects of the profession as well as connect Landscape Architects around the world.
