USGBC Announces Build it Better Conference Date

The U.S. Green Building Council has announced it will host the inaugural Build it Better conference at Liberty House in Jersey City, New Jersey on September 12. It will be the first regional USGBC event for green building professionals and advocates in the New England and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Council members say leaders from 10 states will gather to network, learn and share ideas on how to advance green building in the region.
The conference will feature a morning keynote from USGBC President and CEO Mahesh Ramanujam, and 20-minute sessions related to new, existing and ongoing building performance strategies.

Building leaders in the region, including professionals from the New York City Department of Buildings, Gensler, and Colgate-Palmolive will be among those presenting the sessions.

To lead up to the conference, the region is holding workshops on understanding the goals and outcomes of the most recent update to the LEED rating system, LEED v4.1. The workshops will take place in Boston on September 9 and Pittsburgh on September 13.
