The Berkeley Planning Journal has posted a call for papers to be included in its 31st issue. The Journal is published annually, is peer-reviewed and has been produced by the City & Planning Ph.D. program at Berkeley since 1984.

Each volume has a different theme, and the theme for the upcoming 31st issue is "Transcending the urban-rural divide," which aims to answer questions such as:
What are the values and limitations of this dichotomy?
How do representations of the rural-urban divide shift as boundaries are mapped?
What do emerging planning practices and informal interventions illuminate about the rural-urban divide and rural-urban transitions in the Global South?

If you are interested in submitting for the publication, several guidelines must be adhered to. Foremost, manuscripts must be original and not published elsewhere. Secondly, submissions must include an abstract, the full paper, a list of in-text citations and a bibliography. Abstracts are required to be 150-200 words, full papers 5,000-8,000 words and the references and bibliography in Chicago style formatting.

The deadline for full papers is February 28, 2019, and the issue is slated to be released in December of this year. You can visit the university's news post on the matter HERE and email any questions to bpj@berkeley.com.
