Traveling to Amusement Parks

Disneyland Resort and Surrounding Area Expanded Despite COVID

OVID caused a pause in travel, however, many projects paused for a short period of time but were quickly restarted and completed in time for the Summer 2021 reopening. California experienced some of the strictest pandemic regulations and Disneyland and surrounding resorts faired the uncertain time.

The advent of a new era is upon us as amusement parks reopen their gates for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.

At Disneyland, Anaheim, the park had been opened at limited capacity with restrictions to California residents since April. However, it was not until the state lifted pandemic restrictions on June 15th that tourists were allowed back to the parks.

The Disneyland Hotel reopened on July 2nd with restrictions. Disney brand hotels are currently promoting 25 percent discounts off select rooms at the Disney Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Tourists can save 20 percent on select rooms at Disneyland Hotel through October 3, 2021.

Officially opening its doors on May 14, 2021, the Hotel Lulu is centrally located and comes at a time when many are looking to get back to traveling. The hotel features 310 rooms, a signature restaurant, an outdoor pool, fitness center, meeting and event space, and a Disneyland Insiders team.

Hotel Lulu, which was named this because of its meaning as remarkable or special brings California style to life through 1960s mid-century modern architecture. The hotel is framed by palm trees while guests can enjoy the outdoor pool that features fire pits and lounging areas.

"We are excited to announce the opening of Hotel Lulu and look forward to welcoming travelers, ensuring our guests have a carefree California experience," said Hotel Manager of Hotel Lulu, John Chan, "This new hotel exudes the fun-loving energy of Anaheim; with everything, travelers may need to kick back and relax after a day of adventures. From pool deck wine receptions for adults to fireside bedtime stories for kids, we have something for everyone, and our goal is to make every guest's desires our top priority."

Throughout the pandemic, Disneyland and surrounding areas continued to build despite COVID restrictions. Several new hotels are now opening throughout 2021 including, JW Marriot Anaheim Resort, Westin Anaheim Resort, Element Anaheim Resort Convention Center, and Home2 Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort & Hilton Garden Inn Anaheim Resort, Radisson Blu Anaheim.
