Topping Trees: Understanding this Destructive Cultural Phenomenon by Brandon ElrodBrandon is a Certified Arborist, Certified Community Forest Warden, Certified Professional Horticulturist, Agricultural Pest Control Advisor, Ecologist, and Master Herbalist. According to Brandon "Chances are that you have heard that topping a tree is a bad practice, after all, arborists have been proclaiming this for decades now. Yet, it continues to persist, and we don't have to look very far to find beautiful trees that have been indiscriminately 'hacked back.' As with many areas of life, it is critical to understand what is beneath the motive to top a tree. Perhaps if we can address the underlying need, we can finally put and end to this practice." Join him in the seminar
