Professor and chair of the Landscape Architecture Department at Cornell University in Itheca, New York, Timothy Baird was inducted into the Council of Fellows for the American Society of Landscape Architects in the most recent annual meeting, which was held in Philadelphia. The news post by the university relates that professor Baird has taught landscape architecture at six different universities before joining Cornell as the chair of the department in 2017. Additionally, he has practiced the profession across the United States and many parts of the Middle East. Baird was awarded the fellowship due to his work on the Flight 93 National Memorial Task Force, among other things. The ASLA released a statement saying that Baird's work "reveals a selfless dedication to the highest ideals of the profession and sets an extraordinary example for his students and the entire landscape architecture community." "Because of his extraordinary work as a thought leader, innovator, researcher and accomplished practitioner, [Baird] has provided his students with both a model to follow and the knowledge and wisdom to become highly regarded professionals in their own right," according to the ASLA.To see the entire news article, visit https://tinyurl.com/yyr3cb6l.
