The Awards Keep Coming

Throughout the garden, the 80-plus containerized plantings are manicured and amended to assure health, vigor and beauty at all times as shown in this romantic view of the fireplace garden room.

Continuing its winning ways, Lambert Landscape Company’s Garden Services group received the Grand Platinum Award by The Texas Nursery & Landscape Association (TNLA) for its management of a French Neo-Classical Garden.

TNLA’s Texas Excellence in Landscaping and Platinum Award recognizes “one project which the judges feel deserves special recognition. The Grand Platinum Award isn't always given, but this year the judges found one Gold Winner who demonstrated such amazing quality and attention to detail that the judges were unanimous in selecting its winner.”

From pleaching of the Magnolias, training of espaliers and cleaning of all terraces, each cushion is fluffed, lanterns are polished, drapes are cleaned and water features are maintained to keep this resort-like area event-ready.

Grand Platinum & Gold Awards

For the dual Grand Platinum and Gold Awards project, Lambert’s is fortunate to work with a client who “appreciates a perfectly manicured garden that reflects the grace, glamour, and orderly appointment of the home’s façade and interior,” states Mary Beth Riddle, the garden manager of the one-acre garden at time of recognition.

Originally designed and installed by Lambert’s, the goal of the Garden Services group is to maintain a French Impressionist landscape scene for the client to view from each window.  Located in Preston Hollow, the French Neo-Classical garden is artistically divided into 12 garden rooms each linked by planted mosaic and crushed granite pathways and elegant cut-stone terraces.

Majestic oaks and elms and carefully pleached magnolias anchor the foundational plantings of clipped hedges, flowering shrubs, verdant lawns and groundcover. Additionally, antique statues, commissioned artwork, upholstered outdoor furniture, elegant water features and 80-plus containerized plantings are meticulously maintained year ‘round by Lambert’s comprehensively trained horticulturists, gardeners, and arborists.

The firm was previously honored with the international Judges Award for 2008, the highest award given, for the submission of the French Neo-Classical Garden, at the 39th Annual Environmental Improvement Awards Program sponsored by the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET).
