Tax Credit for Recycled Water

A new tax credit program in Lake Havasu City, AZ is available for residents who recycle ?EUR??,,????'??graywater?EUR??,,????'?? for irrigation and landscaping purposes. Graywater is the water used in shower, sinks and washing machines and is considered safe to recycle in this way. Whereas blackwater is water from kitchen sinks, toilets, and dishwashers, and is not appropriate for recycling at this time due to its high risk of contamination.

Under the new tax credit program, homeowners can claim a tax credit of 25 percent of the cost to install a graywater recovery system up to $1,000. The cost install a subsurface graywater irrigation system is about the same for the installation of a new septic system, because of the use of a collector tank, filters and emitter system.

This tax credit is also available to developers who install a graywater system during new construction, up to $200 per unit.

There could be tax credits for blackwater in Arizona?EUR??,,????'???s future with the help of Lake Havasu City Mayor Mark Nexsen who is lobbying for them. He has proposed to offer a tax credit for costs associated with connecting to a municipal wastewater system.
