The Ecosa Institute will offer a four-week workshop, ?EUR??,,????'??Hands-On Exploration of Sustainable Materials & Methods,?EUR??,,????'?? May 16 through June 10, 2005 in Prescott, Arizona. The workshop will investigate and experiment with a range of materials and their methods of construction.
The guest speaker is Pliny Fisk, co-director of the Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems. He and other speakers will examine the economics and regulatory issues related to the use of alternative materials and gain an insight into ways in which these materials can be brought into the mainstream.
During the workshop a small structure for a school will be built. There will be visits to buildings and sites that use innovative ways of reducing energy use. There will be experiments on a number of new products and techniques for their use, along with nontraditional uses for standard materials.
