Celebrating its 25th year, Stone Forest has built its solid reputation by transforming natural materials such as granite, bamboo, onyx, travertine and marble into award-winning, high-design works of art for the indoor and outdoor settings of residential and commercial spaces. From stunning, massive one-of-a-kind benches sculpted from solid basalt to a hand forged iron basin suspended between a natural boulder that has been cleaved in half, Stone Forest products have a larger-than-life presence. Landscape architects have collaborated with the company for some of their most revered projects. They approach each project as a unique opportunity to identify new design solutions that enhance a site's value and maintain its harmony with the environment. At this year's ASLA Conference and Exhibit in Denver, Stone Forest plans on introducing a number of new outdoor products and additions to existing collections. Here is just a taste of what you can expect to see: Tiered Helix Fountain Standing 57 inches high, this taller edition of the Helix Fountain adds additional depth and beauty to the landscape. The beige granite is grooved in a graceful ladder pattern. The movement of water over granite brings the stone alive, creating a soothing, contemplative atmosphere. Natural Boulder Fire Vessel This is a one-of-a-kind creation. The integrity of granite gives these carvings a radiant mass or presence not realized using man-made materials such as cement or cast stone. Since each piece is hand carved using hammer and chisel, the individual character of the rock as well as the inspiration of the stonecutter lend each sculpture a unique quality. Green Marble Pebble Fountain The Pebble Collection fountains stand at 24", 48" and 60" tall, and weigh up to 3,500 lbs. They are hand-carved from a selection of exotic stones, including multicolored onyx and conglomerate, the latter of which is named "Jurassic" for its natural variations in color and pattern. Horta Bench Cut from blocks of basalt, an extremely durable volcanic rock found in exotic locales – such as the Deccan Traps in India, and the Paraná Traps in Brazil – the surfaces of the Horta dining table and bench are flamed and then brushed to create a tactile experience. Even Horta, the Etruscan Goddess of Gardens, would appreciate the impeccable beauty and craftsmanship of these pieces. Swirl Fountain Each unique in its own right, the fountain is composed of a natural boulder with a raw exterior and polished top which has been saw cut and carved. Weighing 1200 lbs., the Swirl Fountain combines heft and light, providing a soothing contemplative reaction. For more information visit www.stoneforest.com.
