Jackson, Wy. just marked the 75th anniversary of its central park, George Washington Memorial Park. In the first half of January 1932 in the wilds of Wyoming, Harold Curtiss, a landscape architect from the University of Wyoming, prepared plans for the eponymous park to coincide with the commemoration of George Washington?EUR??,,????'???s bicentennial on Feb. 22,1932. The project was completed by 1934 with federal work-relief assistance.

The 27-acre site has a grand view of Casper Mountain to the south and a rapid drop in elevation on the west side with a ridge line that Curtiss took advantage of to afford views of downtown Jackson from most of the park?EUR??,,????'???s central area.

The park has played a central role in the community planning and development of Jackson and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
