The Saratoga Bridges Memorial Garden is located at the core of The Arc New York's Saratoga County Chapter Campus in Malta, New York. Saratoga Bridges, a nonprofit advocacy agency, is focused on providing the highest quality services to people with disabilities and their families. The staff at the Malta Campus enables the disabled community to live enriched lives where they can be valued for their abilities and contributions. In the winter of 2014, The LA Group was approached by the organization to assist with the creation of a memorial garden that would help connect the clients, their families, and staff within a peaceful environment while improving the overall landscape of the campus. The final approved design is now built, located around a flag pole within a large island and along a pathway frequently used by staff for gathering, informal meetings, and as a place to meet with clients and family. The entire garden is surrounded by a new grove of flowering crab trees that present an organized buffer to the adjacent road and parking areas. "The garden is just what we envisioned and hoped it would be-a living tribute to remember, recognize and acknowledge individuals, family members, board members and employees who have passed away or to honor businesses and individuals for their support and dedication, said executive director, Valerie Muratori. "The Memorial Garden is a peaceful, tranquil place to relax, experience nature, promote contemplation and inevitably relieve stress."
