Fletcher Academy Garden of Eden

Fletcher, North Carolina
by BareRoot Designs, PLLC

Fletcher Academy Garden of Eden is currently under construction and is being built by the students, staff and community of Fletcher Academy. Although they have a sizable amount of funds for this project, there is ongoing fundraising.

The School & Corporate Campus Issue of Landscape Architect and Specifier News saw many firms submit their projects for feature consideration. Fletcher Academy Garden of Eden is one of several great projects we are excited to showcase on LandscapeArchitect.com.

A few years ago, BareRoot Designs, PLLC created a design for an Edible Park serving as a working farm for a boarding school in Fletcher, North Carolina. Just outside of Asheville, NC, there is a religious boarding school which once was a primarily agriculture-based learning institution. After many years they have decided to come back to their roots and make part of the campus a working farm. They plan to use the produce from the farm for the school cafeteria and produce markets. They are integrating curriculum with all aspects of the farm in everything from composting to marketing and science.
