The Restoration and Stewardship of Outdoor Resources (RESTORE) Colorado Program launched in 2020 and invested more than $16.1 million towards large-scale habitat restoration, expansion and improvement projects. The 2026 proposal cycle is accepting applications through Nov. 10, 2025.

 

Projects should prioritize watershed resilience - wetlands, riparian and upland habitats like forests - eastern Colorado grasslands, sagebrush rangelands, big game winter range and migration corridors, conservation project development and delivery, and urban areas. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, U.S. Federal government agencies, state agencies, municipalities, Tribes, and educational sites. This cycle appears to have approximately $4.5 million available in funding.

Administered and funded by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), the program is grouped together to provide a single grant application that can support large-scale multi-benefit projects. When awarded, funding will be a minimum of $100,000 per project.
