The Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) has announced its 2026-27 board of directors and committee appointments, introducing a new group of volunteer leaders tasked with advancing landscape architecture regulation and protecting the public.

"Allison leads with relationships," said Matt Miller, CLARB's CEO. "Over more than a decade of volunteer service, she's built genuine trust with member boards across our jurisdictions, and that people-first approach is exactly what will carry the board forward this year."

Edward Kinney, PLA and manager of Greenville, South Carolina's Urban Design Division, was elected president-elect. Kinney has been the chair of the South Carolina Board of Landscape Architectural Examiners since 2015. His service to CLARB includes two terms as director-at-large, serving as board liaison to both the Exam Committee and Member Board Executives Committee, and three years on the Leadership Advisory Council.

Brian Verardo will serve as past president and chair of the Leadership Advisory Council.

The organization also appointed new directors-at-large, including city planner Nicole Cheng, Blair Parker, PLA, and Canadian landscape architect Brad Smith. Additional appointments cover committees responsible for professional examinations, regulatory leadership and other aspects of licensure.

CLARB represents licensure boards across the United States, Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands and Canada, working to establish standards that support safe, sustainable and effective landscape architecture.
