Oldcastle??????oe Architectural has renamed its high-density, pre-finished architectural concrete masonry unit Cordova Stone?EUR??,,????<

The name change signifies the end of the company's sale of the product under the Prairie??????oe Stone mark. Oldcastle, one of the largest producers of concrete masonry products in North America, is rebranding the unit following extensive research and development in artisan stone veneers. The company plans to unveil more product offerings under the Artisan Masonry Stone Veneers?EUR??,,????<

''The rename signifies a change in demand from designers and homeowners for a handcrafted look and feel,'' said Len Browning, Oldcastle Technical Advisor.

Cordova Stone can be cut and shaped in the field, needs little maintenance beyond cleaning with a standard commercial-grade cleaning agent, and is long-lasting. Manufactured with a high-performance water repellent admixture, these masonry units repel moisture, resist mold and offer efflorescent stain resistance.

''The new name is reminiscent of walking the streets of a classic European city,'' Browning said.

Manufactured by Northfield Block, this masonry product uses all natural aggregates to achieve the look of natural stone. Cordova Stone works in veneer or through-wall applications, with a wide variety of shapes and sizes. The product is suited for both commercial and residential projects.
