The grounds at the Shofuso Japanese House and Garden, created in Philadelphia's historic Fairmount Park by landscape architect Tansai Sano of Kyoto, Japan, has been restored thanks to a $75,000 fund drive. The landscape includes a koi pond, an island and two gardens. As part of the restoration, the pond was dredged to deepen it, the masonry banks were rebuilt, the island expanded, and the waterfall restored.
