Spectrum Technologies Inc., manufacturer of weather stations and data loggers, has introduced SpecMap, a new Web mapping software. Users can identify localized dry spots, compacted zones, or nitrogen-deficient areas and this tool provides an indication of the spatial variability across the landscape.

Users can also get maximum value out of portable Field Scout meters by producing 2-dimensional maps from collected data. SpecMaps makes it easy to upload geo-referenced data files from any Field Scout meter to the specially designed, Web-based software.

Statistical interpolation is used to create charts that provide an instant visual of spatial variability. Data is archived at the server so the maps can be easily accessed from any computer with access to the Internet.

Compatible with most geo-referenced meters that measure the following parameters:

  • Chlorophyll (nitrogen)
  • Turf color
  • Soil pH
  • Soil EC (mS/cm)
  • Soil compaction
  • Soil moisture (%)
