WILSONVILLE, Ore.,?EUR??,,????'??+The Oregon Association of Nurseries (OAN) debuted its new logo at the Far West Show, Aug. 21-23, in Portland, Ore. The new logo supplants the logo used by the association for the past 30 years. In June, OAN members gave the approval of the change in the association?EUR??,,????'???s name from ?EUR??,,????'??Nurserymen?EUR??,,????'?? to ?EUR??,,????'??Nurseries.?EUR??,,????'?? The OAN then hired Funk/Levis & Associates of Eugene to work with a task force of members to develop a new logo. The dominant symbolic element in the logo is that of a germinating seed, representing a healthy future for the green industry. The leaf is not a specific plant type, which is symbolic of the OAN?EUR??,,????'???s desire to encompass as many members as possible. The colors are emblematic as well: a lush green denotes healthy, quality plants; the warm red represents the soil. The OAN comprises about 1,600 wholesale growers, retailers, landscapers and suppliers. Oregon?EUR??,,????'???s ornamental horticulture industry is the state?EUR??,,????'???s largest agricultural commodity, with sales of nearly $715 million in 2002.
