MN Update Firm Fair a Success MINNEAPOLIS, MN The Minnesota Chapter of the ASLA hosted its second annual Landscape Architecture Firm Fair in 1998, and received a good turnout. The program was so successful that the University of Minnesota architecture department plans to hold a similar event of their own in 1999. Photo provided courtesy of MASLA. Sponsored by the Minnesota Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (MASLA), the second annual Landscape Architecture Firm Fair was attended by 20 area Landscape Architecture firms and public agencies and over 100 students. Held at the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, this program gives the students a glimpse of the diversity of the Landscape Architecture profession. It also gives students the opportunity to make future contacts, and ask questions about the profession in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. This program has grown in popularity since its inception in 1997. According to MASLA Director of Programs Joel McElhany, "The architecture instructors and students were so impressed by the program that they plan to hold a similar event modeled after ours." For information on upcoming MASLA activities, contact McElhany at 602-370-2608.
