Welcome . . . Hello . . .
While this new publication, Landscape Superintendent & Maintenance Professional, may have broken the record for longest title of a trade magazine, it is just the beginning of hundreds of thousands (or more likely millions) of words yet to come.
Oh great . . . you say . . . do we really need another publication focusing on golf course supers or landscape contractors or gardeners, et al.?!? Well the answer is, ?EUR??,,????'?????<?NO. . .you don?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?t!?EUR??,,????'?????<?
You are receiving Landscape Superintendent & Maintenance Professional (LSMP) because you are not an independent landscape contractor, you don?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?t work at a golf course (although you very well may play the game of golf), and you are certainly more than a two-crew and a pick-up gardener . . .
You are receiving this magazine (and we want you to receive it FREE) because you are the superintendent of a university; a parks department; a municipality; a resort hotel; an amusement park; a cemetery; or some other large facility where you work full time and manage the landscape.
Now . . . you may be called the head groundskeeper, or you may be called the landscape manager, or you may be called ?EUR??,,????'?????<?Hey you,?EUR??,,????'?????<? but if we had to add all those varying titles to the magazine there wouldn?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?t be any room to write about turf care or pest control or equipment maintenance or about personnel issues . . .
Instead we decided on the name ?EUR??,,????'?????<?Landscape Superintendent?EUR??,,????'?????<? because you?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?re the person in charge and, when we asked around, that title evokes the image of a person with a higher education (whether in school or hard knocks), responsible for large budgets, large acreage, and large staffs.
You are not a landscape contractor who needs to fish for new jobs and compete in a price war for work. You are not a golf course superintendent who must worry about divots, sand traps and ball cleaners. Your worries are along the lines of keeping your facility beautiful, safe, functional and all within a budget.
This magazine is coming to you from the publishing company Landscape Communications, Inc. LSMP is the new brother to Landscape Contractor National (LCN), Landscape Architect and Specifier News (LASN) and landscapearchitect.com (LOL). We?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?ve been putting out landscape based magazines and information resources for two decades now.
So . . . Welcome to the family! Your opinion matters to us. Your work matters to us. Your job matters to us . . . And we pledge to do everything necessary to bring you the finest, most targeted publication, specifically designed to assist your efforts in making your facility the very best it can be.
I hope you enjoy this and the upcoming issues and look forward to meeting you at trade shows and on the job?EUR??,,????'?????<???(R)
?EUR??,,????'?????<???(R)God Bless
