Scott Mehaffey


Scott Mehaffey recently formed a residential and commercial landscape design practice based in the Chicago suburb of Flossmoor. Previously executive vice-president of Sage Vertical Garden Systems, Mehaffey served as landscape coordinator for Chicago under former Mayor Richard M. Daley, and was staff landscape architect for Morton Arboretum for 12 years prior to that.






Kimberly Garza


After having lived and worked in San Antonio and Boston, Kimberly Garza has now returned to her native Sacramento, California. She's been hired at a local firm at Quadriga. Garza holds a master of landscape architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design and a bachelor of arts in landscape architecture from UC Berkeley. Her work focuses on the performance of the built environment and providing innovative platforms for cultural, educational and social engagement.

The Presidents Council of U.S. and Canadian landscape architecture organizations held its 2015 meeting at ASLA headquarters in Washington, DC on January 22. The meeting included the presidents, presidents-elect and executive directors of ASLA, Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture, Council of Landscape Architecture Registration Boards, Canadian Society of Landscape Architects, Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board, Landscape Architecture Accreditation Council (Canada) and Landscape Architecture Foundation. The meeting was hosted by LAAB.






Stephanie Landregan


L.A. Biz has named Stephanie Landregan, FASLA one of their 40 honorees, for its inaugural Women of Influence Awards. The program honors women business leaders in the Los Angeles area who innovate, succeed and pay it forward, who stand out both for their achievements in the marketplace as well as their commitment to community and mentoring. L.A. Biz's Women of Influence is part of a national effort by American City Business Journals to identify and celebrate women business leaders and to foster business environments that will create even more successful women in the future. She has also been appointed to the California State Mining and Geology Board.

Landform announced three new additions to the firm ownership: Kendra Lindahl, Michelle Chapman and Steve Sabraski were promoted to shareholders. Lindahl has been with the firm for over 14 years. She is the studio lead for both the planning & infrastructure design studio and the residential design studio. Her experience in both the public and private sector have proven her as a valuable member of the company. Chapman has been with Landform for over 16 years. As the business lead, she provides the team with the administrative essentials to get the job done. Her experience in industry specific business management is a great asset to the company. Sabraski has been with the firm for over 10 years. He is the studio lead for the Retail & Commercial Design Studio. His dedication to clients and attention to detail are a great addition to Landform's ownership.

On December 6, 2014, Virginia Chapter ASLA executive committee held the first monthly meeting with newly elected officers in Richmond. The committee established annual goals for the chapter with a focus on increasing membership participation, establishing section chairs and committees, launching the new VA-ASLA website and a variety of other goals to promote the profession throughout the commonwealth of Virginia. Volunteers are needed to fill positions on several VA-ASLA committees. The 2014-2015 Virginia ASLA Executive Committee consists of: Lynn Crump, President; Missy Benson, President Elect; Jimmy Shepherd, Past President; Chris Hale, Treasurer; LuGay Lanier, Trustee; Mike Fox, Secretary; Karen Kennedy, Member at Large; Charles Rapp, Member at Large.
