During the celebration of the Landscape Architecture Foundation's (LAF) 60th anniversary, Mia Lehrer, PLA, and Green Roofs for Healthy Cities are being honored at the organization's highest level.

 

Founder of Studio-MLA in Los Angeles, California, Mia Lehrer, PLA, will receive the 2026 LAF Medal in recognition of her high-profile public work in the Los Angeles area as well as her influence as a lecturer at the University of Southern California and a board member on the United States Commission of Fine Arts and other committees in Southern California. Lehrer will be honored at the LAF Gala Dinner on September 16 in her hometown of Los Angeles, California.

Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC) is a non-profit organization whose work to expand the green roof industry has earned it the 2026 LAF Founders' Award. For almost 30 years, the group has worked with Landscape Architects and municipalities to implement green roofs and other forms of living architecture that provide food and natural cooling effects while increasing building value and aesthetics. GRHN will be recognized during an LAF webinar later this year.
