Kirchner conducted a demonstration of the Eco-Stone??????oe permeable pavement system by releasing 500 gallons of water on the ecologically-friendly paving product, which was utililized in the recent $10 million renovation at The College School.

ST. LOUIS ?EUR??,,????'??? On Nov. 1, Kirchner Block & Brick hosted a Field Day event with instructional demonstrations of their permeable pavement system and Eco-Stone??????oe product line at The College School of Webster Groves. Twice during the Field Day event, Kirchner released over 250 gallons of water onto the school?EUR??,,????'???s parking lot to demonstrate the effectiveness of stormwater infiltration using the Eco-Stone permeable concrete pavers. The permeable concrete pavers are a key part of the overall goal to use low impact, energy and water efficient design and construction for the renovation project.

Attendees at Kirchner?EUR??,,????'???s Field Day event included many municipal, community and corporate engineering and design representatives, including the Metropolitan Sewer District of St. Louis (MSD), St. Charles County and the city of Chesterfield.

Permeable interlocking concrete pavements (PICPs) are becoming increasingly popular as more communities are faced with meeting stormwater runoff regulations, increased impervious cover restrictions, and the adoption of LID or LEED practices. Many cities and states are incorporating EPA regulations into their overall municipal design, as they attempt to deal with stormwater runoff and over-taxed drainage and sewer systems. Recently approved for use by MSD in St. Louis, Kirchner?EUR??,,????'???s system can help provide a solution to current EPA regulations for stormwater management.

?EUR??,,????'??The green movement is now garnering national attention in the public and private sectors and among consumers,?EUR??,,????'?? said Kirchner?EUR??,,????'???s Mark Wilhelm. ?EUR??,,????'??Kirchner is anticipating the demand for permeable concrete pavers will explode as commercial, municipal and residential developments search for new ways to go green.?EUR??,,????'??
