Sales Survey, Safety and Shows

The Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute made a few announcements earlier in July.

The July 11 release of the Industry Sales Survey showed steady growth in 2015 for the segmental concrete pavement industry in North America. According to the 29 manufacturing companies representing 141 paver-producing machines, there was an average of 14.1% growth over 2014.

The residential market continued its dominance as the primary driver for segmental concrete pavement sales, with 78.2% of all sales. Commercial sales increased by 1%, reaching about 22% of the total market in 2015.

The complete survey results are available for $500 from icpi.org. Members receive a discount.

As part of its commitment to creating a safer workplace, the association is making safety meeting outlines that are available for free to contractor members. At the beginning of each quarter, outlines for 13 weekly topics will be available for download. The first set, released on July 1, includes Respiratory Protection, Basic First Aid, Look Before You Lift, Concrete Checklist and more. The second set will be available on October 1.

Registration for Hardscape North America, the annual trade show sponsored by ICPI and held in conjunction with GIE+EXPO, is now open. Keynote speakers include John Schnatter, founder and CEO of Papa John's Pizza, and Olympic gymnast and gold medalist Shannon Miller.

The early bird registration deadline is September 8. Final registrations will be accepted up until the dates of the show, October 19-21.
