The IAEF sponsored its sixth annual essay contest for students interested in pursing careers in the irrigation industry. Three winners and their instructors received all-expense-paid trips to Irrigation Show 2008, which was held in Anaheim, Calif.
The students were asked to create a video or write an essay about why they are interested in the irrigation industry and what they hoped to learn by attending the show. The Foundation selected three winners; one from the agriculture industry and two from the turf/landscape/golf industry segment. The Foundation also awarded a trip to the three winners of the PLANET Student Career Days irrigation competitions, which were co-sponsored by the IAEF. The event was held in Atlanta, Ga., March 26-29, 2008.
The Irrigation Association Education Foundation is committed to promoting irrigation careers through education. IAEF develops irrigation education resources, offers faculty training and promotes career opportunities through industry and student events. The foundation is a non-profit corporation whose operations are funded entirely by tax-deductible contributions and program revenue.
