The Irrigation Association has announced that registration is now open for the Irrigation Faculty Academy, which will take place June 19 – 20, at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pa.

The Irrigation Foundation's annual Irrigation Faculty Academy brings together educators to teach them best practices in irrigation for use in their classrooms and labs. This two-day event includes both classroom and hands-on instruction in a variety of irrigation topics. Attendees will also earn continuing education units toward IA certifications.

Program sessions include:

  • Irrigation design capacity
  • How various irrigation systems work together
  • Backflow prevention
  • Irrigating crops on demand
  • Hydraulics lab
  • Tour of Longwood Gardens and Nemours Mansion and Gardens

Registration for the event is free and includes meals and industry tours. Instructors are responsible for travel, hotel and miscellaneous expenses. The Foundation provides grant assistance to as many attendees as possible to help offset these costs. Submit completed registration and grant applications by April 25.
