IA Director Announces Retirement

Tom Kimmell, executive director of the Irrigation Association announced during the 26th Annual International Irrigation Show in Phoenix that he is retiring in February 2007. He has attended all 26 irrigation shows, including the last 12 as executive director and one as president of the IA in 1992.

Prior to working for the IA, Kimmell received a bachelor's in economics from the University of Dayton and spent 15 years in sales management at Hardie Irrigation and three at Olson Irrigation. He served as president of the Florida Irrigation Society in 1979 and on the Advisory Council to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture from 1995 to 2001.
