These are the remains of the felled Albizia branches that were illegally dumped by the Imua Landscaping Co. The Albizia is the fastest-growing and most hazardous tree in Hawaii due to its extremely weak branching, according to Scott Ishakawa, DOT spokesperson. The Albizia is the cause of most vehicular property claims against DOT from falling branches.

A contractor in Pearl City, Hawaii has agreed to remove tree trimmings it illegally dumped along a state freeway, according to the state?EUR??,,????'???s Department of Transportation.

The Imua Landscaping Co. was hired to cut and remove Albizia trees along the highway, admitted that it illegally disposed of stumps and branches and will begin cleaning them up this week. The company told DOT officials that it did this due to a misunderstanding, however the contract clearly stated that the company was responsible for either mulching the trimmings for recycling or transporting them to a landfill, said Scott Ishikawa, DOT spokesperson.

The dumping was brought to the public?EUR??,,????'???s attention through Caroll Cox of EnviroWatch Inc., who said that the dumping posed potential fire, flooding and other environmental dangers.

Officials were able to identify that the Albizia trees were cut by Imua because they were marked with orange spray paint.
