Fraudulent Landscape Architect Faces Jail Time
Unlicensed Architect Claimed Others Work as His Own

A man falsely claiming to be a landscape architect stole pictures from others' websites, and even listed associates who worked for other companies.

A contractor in Salem, Mass., who maintained he was a landscape architect, will be reportedly sentenced to prison for swindling customers.

He posed as an established landscape architect and promised customers he would complete projects. Most of the projects were paid upfront, but never completed.

The website he used contained pictures from other landscape architecture firms, and he asserted those projects were his own work.

The Division of Professional Licensure has sanctioned him for posing as a licensed professional.

Names of associates appearing on his website, "Allure Landscape Architecture" were taken off of other landscape firms' websites.

This case is a prime example of intellectual property theft. Established firms and associates should watermark their intellectual property to protect it from use by others.
