Peter Flinker, of Dodson & Flinker, received his nomination for 'Knowledge' from the Boston Society. An author, lecturer and practitioner, Peter has established landscape architecture at the forefront of smart growth and sustainable design. His richly illustrated publications have led a generation of community leaders to appreciate model regulations and design guidelines for low-impact development and long-term urban revitalization. This vision is apparent in downtowns, villages, commercial corridors and mixed-use development throughout the Northeast. He has carved out a central role for landscape architects in policy planning and form-based codes. Throughout his remarkable career, he has given cultural, historic, visual and recreational resources equal weight with natural resources and inspired others to prioritize greenway planning and open-space preservation.
