EDSA will receive the American Society of Landscape Architects' (ASLA) Landscape Architecture Firm award for 2010 during the ASLA Show in Washington, D.C., Sept. 10-13.
This is the highest honor a firm can receive from the ASLA, and is given in recognition of extended excellence in work that influences the profession.
EDSA was founded by Edward D. Stone Jr., FASLA in 1960 (see ''Moment of Silence: Edward Stone Jr., FASLA, Founder of EDSA (1932-2009)'' www.landscapearchitect.com/research/article/12238.
EDSA has grown from its Fort Lauderdale, Fla. roots to creating projects in 90 countries around the globe. The firm's scope of projects is reflected in the diversity of its employees, representing 25 countries and more than 20 languages. During EDSA's 50 years the firm has created some of the most influential works in the profession. Notable projects include the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, PepsiCo World Headquarters (see Pepsico Headquarters Garners 2009 Landmark Award www.landscapearchitect.com/research/article/12088, the Atlantis Resort and many others around the world.
