Environmentalists, historians, and other opponents will have their way in Haymarket, Virginia. Despite the support of Governor George Allen and the Prince William County Planning Commision, who recently approved rezoning plans to allow construction of a history-theme park and resort, the Walt Disney Company unexpectedly surrendered its preferred site for "Disney America."

Disney is not abandoning the Virginia project, however, and will seek another site for the $650 million theme park and resort development-one that does not impact a Civl War battlefield.
