Concordia University engaged Coleman & Associates to design a new outdoor space on campus for students to connect and socialize. Positioned between 2 buildings at the north end of campus, the Purple Rock Courtyard honors the history of the university while providing modern amenities, including seating spaces with both bolted and moveable furniture, shade sails in Concordia's purple and gold, and overhead string lighting. The plant palette incorporates Texas natives reminiscent of the adjacent surrounding nature preserve. Coleman & Associates also provided utility coordination, irrigation design, and drainage solutions.
