Builder Business Increased in 2021 According to NAHB

The NAHB Builder Member Census Showed a Significant Increase in Revenue from 2020 to 2021

The 2020 NAHB Builder Member Census saw the median annual revenue at $2.6 million whereas the 2021 median increased to $3.3 million.

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) recently released their 2021 NAHB Builder Member Census that details the median annual revenue of NAHB builders. The median revenue had plateaued at around $2.7 million for about five years until this most recent edition of the census. In 2021, it was reported by NAHB members that the median annual revenue increased to a new record of $3.3 million, an increase of more than 25% from 2020.

Despite this median increase in annual revenue, the majority of the NAHB builders are still small businesses. Of the reported members, 14% reported less than $500,000 annual revenue, 13% reported revenue between $500,000 and $999,999, and 38% reported between $1 million and $4.9 million.
