The New York Upstate Chapter of the ASLA has recently announced their Annual Awards Program for 2018. The program recognizes innovative projects executed by individuals, firms, agencies and academic institutions.

There are six award categories associated with the program: built design, unbuilt design, residential garden design, planning and analysis, research and communication and historic preservation. In addition, submitters are also eligible for the Honor Award of Excellence, which highlights projects representing the highest professional standards, or the Merit Award of Achievement, which recognizes professional work of significant quality, innovation or professional impact.

All award winners will be announced and honored at the Annual Awards Celebration, which will be held on March 15, 2019 at the Corning Museum of Glass. Celebration attendees will participate in the N.Y. Upstate People's Choice Award selection process, which involves picking the winner of the Golden Gnome, which will be voted on by all in attendance. The winner of the Golden Gnome is honored not only by the judges, but also by his or her peers in the N.Y. Upstate Chapter of the ASLA. All submitted entries will automatically be considered for this award.

Entries for the program are due November 19. Entry fees include payment for one ticket to the awards reception.
