The Northern California Chapter of the ASLA is encouraging its members to attend a free, daylong workshop on how to comply with the Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance. MWELO and the New Normal for California Landscapes, which was developed through a partnership between StopWaste and PG&E, will give an expansive look at the ordinance and will cover several design strategies that meet the standard. Attendees will hear presentations on water budget calculations, irrigation best practices, composting and low water plant selection. The training will also include tips from a MWELO code reviewer and hands-on activities in which participants apply concepts and receive feedback. The session will end with a Q&A panel.MWELO and the New Normal for California Landscape will be held on November 28 at the Pacific Energy Center in San Francisco.
