Throughout a career of over 50 years, Duane Blossom has focused on placemaking for projects that make a significant contribution to communities. A pivotal midpoint in his career was as a principal for POD Inc., and working with Ron Izumita. As a practitioner and educator, his storyboard-workshop design approach is based on critical thinking and visual communication, a process that helps build consensus with clients and the public, and furthers the understanding of the importance of design. Blossom shares his love of drawing, landscape art and the vast potential of nature with students and young professionals through sketching and design workshops, passing on this legacy to future generations of landscape architects.
