Commemorated in 1970 to promote the protection of the environment, Earth Day has become an annual event celebrated around the world on April 22. It now includes events coordinated by the Earth Day Network in more than 193 countries.

Today, Wednesday, April 22, as we honor the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in the midst of all the confrontations we are currently facing, the American Society of Landscape Architects wants to remind all of us that "landscape architects are uniquely suited to addressing these challenges through planning and designing for sustainability and resilience."
