The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has shared information on this year's submission deadlines for LEED certification. The deadlines apply to applications for LEED for Building Design and Construction (BD+C), LEED for Interior Design and Construction (ID+C), LEED for Operations and Maintenance (O+M), LEED for Neighborhood Development (ND), LEED for Cities and Communities, and LEED Zero certification, excluding LEED Volume. According to USGBC, LEED is available for virtually all building types and is the most widely used green building rating system in the world with certification a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership. Certified projects are said to be cost effective and have health and environmental benefits such as improved air quality, water conservation and reduced pollution, waste and carbon emissions.
