The Fall 2020 ACI Virtual Concrete Convention attracted a record attendance of 2,937 concrete industry professionals and students from around the world, enabling the critical work of the Institute to continue moving forward. Additionally, the virtual format provided the opportunity for greater participation from students, professionals, and global colleagues. The 2020 ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards also took place during the convention, and the highest honor was presented to the Kennedy Center Expansion Project, Washington, DC, United States.

The ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification program is now approved for reimbursement under the Veteran's Administration (VA) GI Bill. Veterans who have participated in an ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification session as of January 1, 2020, are now eligible for reimbursement. ACI offers nearly 30 certification programs in a variety of areas within the industry. ACI added several new certification programs, making a total of more than 30 certification program offerings now available. To keep pace with the growing demand for ACI-certified personnel on various concrete construction projects, the Institute has launched the ACI Certification Verify app to help supervisors verify the status of ACI-certified individuals on a jobsite.
