ALCC Awards Excellent Projects

Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado [Photo Captions]: The Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado (ALCC) recently honored 36 projects at the 2008 Excellence in Landscape Awards banquet. The Jennie Adair Regional Stormwater Quality Project (depicted) received the Presidents Award.

On January 14, 2009, the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado (ALCC) held the 2008 Excellence in Landscape Awards banquet. 36 innovative projects by association members from around the state were honored. Categories included landscape construction, Xeriscape, renovation, water features, special areas, design/build, wall construction and use of color.

The City of Aspen Parks Department received the Presidents Award for their Jennie Adair Regional Stormwater Quality Project. Meanwhile, All Phase Landscape, Colorado Total Maintenance, Inc. and Marpa Design Studio, Inc. and Environmental Designs got Grand Awards. 21 landscape companies received Awards of Excellence for a total of 32 projects.

The stormwater project involved collaboration between a consulting civil engineer, city work crews, general contractor, contracted mason, consulting graphic designer and community volunteers. The result was a restored riparian area to improve water quality flowing into the Roaring Fork River from central Aspen storm sewers.
