Advanced Training for Landscape Company's Employees
The Park West Learning Academy Opens

The new learning academy at Park West Companies' headquarters in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., will train employees on skills aimed at enhancing their careers and helping Park West achieve its mission.

Park West Companies, a leading provider of landscape construction, landscape management and tree care services, recently launched a comprehensive, in-house training initiative, including a dedicated academy, for its employees.

On the opening day of the Park West Learning Academy, CEO, Jim Tracy, shared with those in attendance, "As an organization, we have set aggressive goals for growth in the coming years. For us to reach them, we will need each and every one of you to be your best. This academy will be the place where we come together in our common cause to grow as professionals and as people."

In an interview with landscapearchitect.com, Tracy described how he and Dustin Kemmerer, Park West Landscape Management's President, began discussing the vision for the Learning Academy about a year and half ago. Then, together with the support of Park West Landscape Construction's President, Bart Ryder, began the program and facility development.

Fast forward to this summer, and courses are already being offered for participants ranging from field personnel to executives. According to the company, the academy will also offer opportunities for employees to satisfy various continuing education requirements. Future course development will include leadership, technology, language, professional skills and safety, among many others.

After her first experience at the Learning Academy, accounts payable manager and longtime employee Jesika Nguyen said, "I think it's very special that we have an opportunity like this, and I can't wait to attend my next class."

When asked about what the future holds, Tracy replied, "We must be able to attract, hire and retain the right people. I believe that the training offered in our Academy and our broader commitment to our people will help us to meet that challenge and position us as industry leaders."
